The annual Professional Numismatists Guild "PNG Day" awards banquet was held in Denver, Colorado on August 15, 2006. More than 200 member-dealers and guests attended the event to honor award winners for their achievements. At the start of the evening, PNG member-dealer Lee Minshull of California asked the audience for a moment of silence to honor the memory of former American Numismatic Association President, Florence M. Schook, who passed away in April. She was a mentor over the years to many young numismatists who today are advanced collectors or dealers, such as Minshull.

The donation from PNG will be used by the ANA for its Coins in the Classroom project to promote numismatics as an educational medium to teach students about culture, art, science and history in the nation's schools.
The PNG presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to Anthony Terranova of New York City. While Terranova recovered from emergency surgery earlier that day in Denver, his son, Anthony Jr. (left), accepted the award on behalf of his father from PNG member-dealer Kevin Lipton of California.
